No sign-up — saved automatically in this browser only
An online notepad you can use straight away with no sign-up or login. When you stop typing, it saves automatically to this browser 0.4 seconds later, counts characters (including spaces) and words as you go, and lets you download the text as a dated text file. Use it to jot down a phone number or phrase in a hurry, edit something before pasting it elsewhere, or trim a cover letter or post to a character limit.
Character and word counts update with every keystroke, and 0.4 seconds after your last input the whole text is saved to the browser's local storage, with 'saved' flashing briefly at the top. There is no save button. Nothing is sent to a server, and opening the page again in the same browser on the same device brings the text back. If saving fails, a 'save failed' message appears. The character count includes spaces and line breaks; the word count is the number of chunks separated by spaces or line breaks after trimming the ends. For example, 'meet at 3' counts as 9 characters and 3 words. Some special characters such as emoji may count as two characters. Pressing download creates a file named with today's date, such as a note file ending in 20261001.txt, directly on your device.
It is never sent to a server, so nobody can see it over the internet. Anyone using the same browser on the same device will see it if they open this page, so clear it on shared computers.
It saves 0.4 seconds after you stop typing and briefly shows 'saved'. If 'save failed' appears or the text is gone when you return, a private window or security setting may be blocking browser storage.
Yes. It counts every character including spaces and line breaks. If you need a count without spaces, use a dedicated character counter alongside it.
No. It handles plain text only, and the downloaded file is plain text too. It opens normally in most editors, including Korean text.
